Trying Something New

Hi 🙂

Two posts in two days, wow! Let’s hope I can keep this up.

So today it’s a health and fitness related post. I thought I would tell you about a new training and nutrition program that I started in January.

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I developed an interest in weight lifting two years ago and I started out training with help from my dad. He used to do bodybuilding when he was younger so he knows quite a bit and was so helpful 🙂

Anyway, long story short: I was really interested in this so I researched it further last year using a website called and I tried to educate myself on nutrition and counting macros but I wasn’t seeing the results that I wanted to.

I had been following recalibrated bodies on Instagram and snapchat for a while and was really keen to sign up for one of their training and nutrition programs, but of course things like this are never cheap.

(Oh yeah, side note: an exciting thing happened since I stopped blogging in 2014: I got engaged!!!!! This happened in December 2015 🙂 so I am also planning our wedding at the moment – more info on this to follow also!). I told myself that I would sign up with recalibrated bodies in 2018 to get in shape before the wedding, but then Christmas 2016 came around and when my parents asked me what gift I would like I couldn’t think of anything I’d like more!

I started my 8 week training and nutrition program on January 7th and it is the best thing I have ever done! I will do a more detailed post with a review on this but I just wanted to write a little bit of background first.

I am currently 4 weeks into the program and in that time I have dropped 3kg and 3.9% body fat! I am amazed by the results and have never felt better.

If you want to read more about them you can check out their website: they are AMAZING!

I’ll be back soon with more info on this as there is SO much I want to share with you all! Im just getting started.

I’m back….again!

Hi 🙂

So…. I haven’t blogged since 2014, apparently! Oh dear, how did this happen?

I made a lot of decisions over the past couple of weeks and one of these decisions was to get back into blogging. I have missed it so much!

When I posted regularly in 2014 my hobbies were very different, I feel like I have changed so much as a person since then (for the better!). In 2015 I discovered that I had a passion for health and fitness! I got back to the gym, I started running with a friend and trained with her to be able to run 6km (a huge achievement for me!) but then I discovered a new love – weight lifting and I haven’t looked back since.

In the past two years my body has changed SO much, I now weigh 13kg lighter than when I wrote my last blog post (crazy!) and I have totally changed my diet and physique.

Anyway, without rambling too much, what I want to say is: I’m back, but I’m different. Yes, I still love all things girly and anything make up or beauty related and I will still be doing all the make up and beauty posts (because I’ve lots of new things to share with you guys!), but would anyone be interested in also following me on this fitness journey and learning about my current training and nutrition routine, etc?

Let me know what you think or if there is anyone still reading this at all 🙂

Advent Calendar day 5, 6, 7 & 8!

Hi guys,

I had a friend visiting me in Berlin over the weekend and we were super busy all the time so I’m only getting around to posting this now!

This Advent Calendar is my favourite ever – such a lovely idea for a gift!

Day 5 brought a La Roche-Posay Nutritic Intense Riche cream which is an in-depth Nutri-reconstituting cream for very dry and sensitive skin. I haven’t tried this out yet, but it sounds promising!

Behind door number 6 was the best gift so far! It’s the Vichy Nutriextra lip balm for sensitive skin. This is a 15ml tube so I’m assuming it’s full size! This has bee’s wax in it and is so thick and moisturising and coats the lips really well. I was delighted with this product because my lips have been super dry the past few weeks so I’m hoping that this will help them a lot during winter!

Day number 7 brought a small sachet of Roger & Gallet soothing and Nourishing Rose body lotion for dry skin. If this is anything like the perfume, I’m sure it’s amazing! I’ve not tried it yet though as I’m always so skeptical about using scented products!

And lastly, behind door number 8 was the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Riche soothing protective cream for intolerant skin prone to dryness. I’m pretty sure you use this as a moisturiser so will definitely be trying that out soon to let you know if it’s any good!

That’s all for today, I hope you’re all enjoying finding out which beauty products I’ve found in my Advent Calendar each day!

Have any of you found exciting treats in your calendar?

Happy Monday!

Advent Calendar Day 3 & 4

Hi guys,

Today I’m posting both day 3 and day 4 of my advent calendar together. I never got around to posting yesterday because I had a hectic day at work. It was the same again today and I ended up working for 11 and a half hours without a break! Ahhh I cannot wait for Christmas holidays! 😀 2 weeks and counting!

So yesterday in my Advent Calendar I got the Cicaplast Baume B5 cream by La Roche-Posay. I actually bought the full size of this product last weekend as a pharmacist recommended it for my dry hands! It’s working well so far, so I’m delighted to have a mini for my handbag! 🙂 I’ve included the full size product in my November favourites if you want to read more about it!

Day number 4 brought another Vichy product, the Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Rich Cream. This apparently leads to plumped skin, smoothed dehydration lines and a radiant complexion. It’s for dry and sensitive skin, so I’m excited to try this out. I’ll keep you posted!

I hope you’ve all been having a good December so far!

Have you tried any of these products?

Advent Calendar: Day 2

Hi guys,

I hope you’ve all had a good day! Mine was super busy – I was out of the house from 8AM to 8PM so am only getting around to writing this post now.

This morning I found a perfume sample behind door number 2 of my Advent Calendar. It’s a citrus perfume by Roger & Gallet called Cédrat. When I looked at this this morning I thought – great, a product that I probably won’t use! Also, I’ve never heard of a citrus perfume so was a bit skeptical, but I decided I’d wear it to work today anyway to test it out so that I could give a little review in this post.

Firstly it’s a good sample – it’s a small spray bottle – not one with a lid that pops off! (I hate those ones!!)

When I first sprayed this, I’m not going to lie, it smelled just like lemons and I thought “oh brill, now I’ve to go to work smelling like lemon and lime”!Haha

After about a minute the lemony smell had vanished and the perfume just smelled really nice, fresh and clean. I actually kept smelling it all morning because it smelled so nice! It’s also super handy to take to work in your purse!

I’m loving day 2 so far! Don’t forget to come back tomorrow if you you’re interested in seeing what day 3 brings 🙂

Did you get anything exciting in your Advent Calendar this morning?

Hope everybody has a great Wednesday!

Advent Calendar: Day 1

Hello everybody,

Happy December!! The 1st of December means one thing – time to start opening fun Advent calendars! This year Eoghan bought me a skin care Advent calendar and it’s my first ever non-chocolate one so I was super excited to start opening the doors!

I thought I would share each product with you all by doing a quick post each day for the month of December to show you what I find!

Behind door number 1 this morning I found a decent sized (15ml) Vichy Idéalia illuminating cream for dry, sensitive skin. Inside the box this product comes in a glass pot and is super heavy which makes it feel like really good quality – not bad for a sample! There are no product instructions on the box so I’m not sure if you use this during the day or at night but I’ll google it and find out!

Have any of you tried this product? If so I’d love to hear how to use it!

What was behind the door of your Advent calendar this morning?

Have a great week!

Lea ❤
